On the Road Again

We, my daughter Samantha and I, are on the road again. Driving across Arkansas and stopping at a few antique stores and flea markets along the way. Our first stop was in Hope, Arkansas, yes the birthplace of President Bill Clinton, and our directions took us off the highway and dropped us directly in front of his childhood home. We didn't stop and take pictures but it was nice to see it again. We ventured into downtown Hope, a small, quaint little place with an old train depot and 3 antique stores. The first one we went into, C. Fink Ltd., had some nice things but the young man in attendance could not answer our questions. I bought a few small items but possibly would have purchased more if I could have had my questions answered. As we approached the second store, across the street, we were met at the door by a nice elderly gentleman who explained that he was closing to go to his granddaughter's dance recital. Who can argue with that? It is nice to know he loves his granddaughter enough to go enjoy her dancing. The third one, Elm Street Marketplace, was a joy. The owner, Barbara Noble and her assistant, were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The store has two large rooms full of fantastic finds and there is a Dixie Bell Retailer inside the shop. My daughter found some honey suckers and some cajun pickles

and I bought some Dixie Bell Chalk Paint. The Elm Street Market: 121 South Elm Street, Hope Arkansas. Take a minute and visit next time you go through and tell Barbara that Polly and Samantha sent you. As we were talking with Barbara we asked about flea markets in the area and she directed us to The Flying Pig Flea Market and gave us very good directions. So on we went. As we got there the outdoor vendors were packing up but the we found the most amazing door and Samantha got the best garden cart ever. The owner, was helpful and friendly and was willing to mark our items sold for pick up the next day. The Flying Pig Vintage Flea and Trade Days, 403 S. Phillips Dr., Hope, Arkansas. Drop by sometime. Tomorrow we will visit A Rare Find Flea Market in Forrest City. We will let you know how it goes. Night all...
